For the record, a small rant.

I just wanted to state for the record that while I think this activity in which I'm engaging at the moment is valuable to me personally, and many people find it so for themselves, I abhor the word 'blog'.

'Blog' is a terrible crime against the English language and is typical of how the language of Shakespeare has been cruelly bastardized in modern times. Small-minded people have steadfastly refused to learn English properly and compulsively shorten or even drop words completely. Sometimes this process is taken to such extreme lengths that the original word is entirely lost, and latecomers would have no reason to suspect where the new word originated. 'Blog' is an example of this. Does the time saved by not having to type or say 'we-' in front of your '-blog' add up enough to make it worthwhile to se the shortened version? I say thee nay!

And so, I will not be using the word in this space. In protest, I have coined a different term: Bjourn. (It's pronounced byourn, like the Scandinavian men's name.) It's short for webjournal, and is no more absurd than Blog. Even if it does have 2 more letters to type, it can be said in the same amount of time, as one syllable.

End of rant.
